Ingredients

  • For the Burger Patties:
  • 1 pound 450g ground beef (80% lean / 20% fat)
  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • For the Special Sauce:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • Additional:
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Avocado slices optional
  • Bacon strips cooked until crisp (optional)
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  • Instructions
  • Mix and Shape the Patties:
  • In a large bowl, gently blend together the ground beef, onion, garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Once combined, divide the mixture into four even portions. Shape each into a round patty, slightly pressing the center to help them cook evenly.
  • Cook the Patties:
  • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and drizzle a bit of olive oil. Add the patties and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip and cook the other side. During the final minute, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and cover until melted.
  • Whip Up the Sauce:
  • Combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and relish in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and set aside for later use.
  • Toast the Buns:
  • Split the buns and toast the cut sides on a hot pan or grill until lightly golden.
  • Build Your Burgers:
  • Spread your sauce on the bottom bun, then layer with lettuce, the hot cheesy patty, tomato, pickles, and any extras like avocado or bacon. Top it with the upper half of the bun.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
  • Plate your burgers alongside your favorite sides—fries, chips, or a crunchy salad all pair perfectly.

Notes

  • Use freshly ground beef for best flavor.
  • Add a fried egg on top for a breakfast twist.
  • Patties can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
